You might have a friend who's made a quick buck off of Bitcoin or another cryptocurrency—you might have even done it yourself. While there might be a lot of hype around Bitcoin, the potential for the blockchain and its applications goes far beyond trading.
Note that in this course you will learn about the economics, markets, principles, business models, use cases and technologies in Blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Advanced coding and programming are not covered.
"I've never learned so much in such a short amount of time. iX also has prepared me for the upcoming interview process and I feel confident and ready to succeed."
Braden Casady, iX '15, now Investment Banking Analyst at Goldman Sachs
Apply your skills with a hands-on internship
Our internships are different from the usual: instead of leaving you on your own, we provide you with daily support and occasional classes to cover additional material. That means you'll be able to create huge value in a short time — all of which you can add to your resume to show future employers.
Click below to explore some of our international Blockchain intern partners and the work students have done:
A blockchain consultancy that cccelerates the adoption of disruptive technologies for its clients, to build a more decentralized future.
A global tech consultancy that's been operating for over 100 years, with 120 branches worldwide, 12,000 employees, and a two billion Euro turnover.
A blockchain startup developing a scalable Layer One 'DLT' protocol for incentivized computation and distributed data storage.
Konfid.io has two products, one called 'Contracts' and the other 'Energy'. Their Contracts product helps large companies manage their internal contracts. Their Energy product helps track energy use and payments in a decentralized way.
What iX interns worked on
iX 2018 Blockchain interns worked on a range of smart contract and research-related projects, primarily producing and presenting a proof of concept for a new product Konfid.io was working on. The four iX interns worked together, mentored and guided by different portfolio heads, to research the relative market, its competitors, the technical feasibility of the proposed solution, and ultimately constructed a testable smart contact application for the concept.

Viessmann combines the best of their 100-year company history with agile work methods and state-of-the-art technology. They want to evolve continuously, approach the digital transformation with confidence and an innovative spirit, and are conscious of their responsibility to their employees, customers, and future generations.
What iX interns worked on
iX 2018 Blockchain interns worked on three important projects for Viessmann: 1) automating the supply chain using blockchain technology; 2) assessing the feasibility of a peer-to-peer energy trading platform on blockchain; and 3) researching and outling a potential minimum viable product for an 'On Chain' smart home interaction tool. On the final day of their internship, the three interns presented their findings to over 50 employees, and were joined by high level Viessmann employees through video call.
iX Internship Case Study
zkSystems is an early-stage Blockchain startup that is developing a scalable Layer One 'DLT' protocol for incentivized computation and distributed data storage. They use asynchronous BFT consensus, and post-quantum encryption and verifiable computation, based on non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs.
What iX interns worked on
iX's zkSystems interns worked on two projects, one technical and one business. For the technical project, they co-created the technical architecture of zk's new data storage product. They finished the internship with a technical analysis on the competing and supporting data storage technologies, co-developed a minimum viable product, and co-wrote a technical part of the company's white paper. For the business project, they assisted with developing zk's business model, identified clients and strategic partners, and conducted research and recommendations for the startup's fundraising preparation.
